The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal is the largest and longest running Christmas Appeal, now celebrating their 30th anniversary. Many people struggle with the extra bills that happen around December and into the New Year. This often leaves little available for Christmas presents. The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal’s key idea is to show people who are struggling that they’re not alone. This is done by collecting gifts for those who would otherwise go without this Christmas.
If you’ve been into Rothgard’s office in previous Decembers you might have noticed our tree surrounded by presents. This is the fourth year we’ve been involved with the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal and we’d love your help. If you’re coming into the office for a meeting any time before Christmas, or you’re able to simply drop in, feel free to bring a gift and put it under the Christmas Tree. We’re looking for gifts for babies, children, teenagers, adults and seniors.
There’s no need to wrap the presents and you don’t have to buy them at Kmart. This is simply an opportunity to remind people who are struggling that someone is thinking about them on Christmas Day.
In the week before Christmas the staff from Rothgard will drop the presents off at a local Kmart store, to be delivered to families before Christmas Day. All gifts given to the Appeal are distributed to Kmart’s charity partners, The Salvation Army and Mission Australia.
